A Little About Me

I’m Sinead McLeod, a writer, artist and actor based in England. I create children’s books inspired by nature, kindness and the small moments that stay with us, alongside painting, acting and voice work.

During lockdown, I took a course in writing and illustrating children’s books and began drawing or painting every day, sharing the images with friends as I went. This illustration comes from that series. She is sleepwalking, and for me, she represents the idea that in dreams and in stories, anything is possible. Reading can be a bridge into another world, helping us to see from different points of view, or simply giving us a little space away from everyday life. That sense of childlike curiosity has never really left me, which is why I wanted to share this piece here.

Storytelling has always been at the heart of what I do, whether through words, paint or performance. I’m especially drawn to work that celebrates the wonder of life, warmth, simple truths and the kindness found in kindred spirits. I believe art can meet us where we are, open something within us, and gently lift us towards a more generous, attentive and fully alive way of being.
